I want to refinish my bedroom floor. I want to end up with a satin floor finish. If I use the Bio Poly first with a stain, do I need to use the same stain with the Nanotech and Aqualine or do I use both of those in a clear finish?
When staining a wood bedroom floor with Bio Poly then it is typical to apply 2-3 coats of NanoTech Clear 00 after. Most bedrooms get a stain and two clear coats.
Some people just use Bio Poly NT on the bedroom floors. That’s what I have on mine. Did them once in 8 years. Did one or two spot touch ups at one point or other but for the floors still look and feel great. The beeswax and resin is so nice on bare feet.
However, that’s not always best if a stain is being used because stains generally do best when a sacrificial layer is put over them.
Try a couple sample pints on a board or inconspicuous area and see which you like best.
Best wishes,
Tom
