I am looking for an all natural paint to go over mold. We are looking to paint exposed wall cavity of our addition prior to drywalling. Is Lime Prime the best to order for this job?
Lime Prime is made out of a pharmaceutical grade of lime (calcium hydroxide). This is a fairly natural occurring mineral but consumer grade lime is made from heating calcium carbonate (chalk), and then adding water. It is zero voc coating and very strong for the job you are looking at using it for.
We paint the back of drywall, since that is usually paper and often becomes the first food source for mold inside wall cavities. We also paint the inside of the wall cavity. This is what we would recommend for the best approach to tackle this situation.
Best wishes,
Tom
