What Mold Primer Can I Use?

mold remediation paint project

Hi,

Can we paint over Lime Prime with a regular colored paint?

Hope you have a good day.

Appreciatively,

Hi,

Yes. You should be able to use any paint over Lime Prime.
It’s always a good idea to do a small test area if you can.
Lime Prime has a shelf life of one year. I’m not sure it ever goes bad but it can get thick after a long time.  Lime Prime is a zero voc primer for mold remediation projects.  It works best with Lime Seal which is the top coat for this system.

If sealing in odors, we usually use a strong topcoat. NanoTech is the best thing for offgassing but that’s not a paint.
Whatever paint you choose, I would make sure it is a 100% acrylic with a sheen of eggshell or greater. Not flat.
A lot of zero voc paints nowadays are actually just vinyl acetate mixed with a little acrylic and then they call it “acrylic copolymer”.
So, maybe watch out for that one.  Best of luck with your project!
